Whenever I visit the One of a Kind Show I always find some great independent Canadian companies. Smitten Kitten is one booth I always make sure to check out. What first drew me in were their stunning and colourful clutches created out of vintage scarves. But once I got closer their broaches (pictured here) also created out of vintage scarves were too precious to pass up.

Started in 2004, the Toronto-based company is both wholesale and online. The fact that they use vintage is why their pieces hold such a unique quality – you most definitely won’t find a duplicate of the items you buy. Plus, everything is designed and manufactured in Canada and by its nature vintage is eco-friendly. 

I also love the Smitten Kitten’s Lost and Found Shop. It’s full of kitsch and it’s the kind of thing my retro-loving, garage sale-searching friends would love. So peruse online and get ready to dust off someone else’s beloved treasure for your own humble abode.
