Like most people,  I love hunting down the latest and greatest. I also don’t just want gossip blogs or shopping sites – I want real information and I want someone with a voice behind it!

So I thought I’d share some of my favourite fashion and beauty blogs with you (as long as you promise to keep coming back to mine!). Never hurts to have a little extracurricular reading.

Here goes:

Nadinejolie.com – This former magazine editor gives you the scoop on the latest beauty products and her life. I’m currently reading her novel: Confessions of a Beauty Addict – it’s a fictional take on a beauty editor’s fall from grace and is quite entertaining.

Iambeautygeek.com – Created by Janine Falcon, this woman knows her way around a beauty closet after years at a magazine. She also goes to everything and knows tons about what’s happening in the beauty world. (Plus she’s a makeup artist herself!) We featured her in our February 2010 Drugstore Deals article and I started using some of her fab recommendations with great results.

BeautyEditor.ca – Another former magazine editor, this blog has a fun format and always features the latest and greatest in an easy to read manner. She’s also part of a Style Collective that is a select group of Canadian bloggers.

Gifted – A blog by another former mag editor (they’re quite savvy I must say!) this site is the place to look if you’re buying a gift or just looking for fun new things for yourself. Alison tells you what she loves, why and where to buy it. Come Christmas this site must explode!

Front Row Mag – While I love reading international fashion blogs it’s fantastic to have a high quality one close to home. This will give you the latest from the Toronto Fashion Week runways, celebrity events and of course the newest beauty products. 

Who What Wear – If I could live inside a website, this one would be it if you know what I’m saying. I signed up for their email updates and literally read every one which is quite rare. They send fun pics of celebrities, the latest trends and you can even click on a link for where to buy them. (What a one stop shop.) Plus they have videos from their closet and mix in a little beauty every now and then. LOVE it. I heart their indie, chic, trendy sense of style and it’s always fun.

The Sartorialist – I must admit, I’m not as religious about this site as some others but if you want style inspiration here’s where to hunt. If you haven’t heard of it, you’re likely living in a treehouse. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

Garance Dore – Pretty, French and filled with fashion. What more could you ask for?

Vitamin Daily – Keep up to date on the latest events and info in your city. They have a version for several Canadian hotspots!

Sweetspot.ca – This will fill you in on anything and everything fun, sweet and of course there’s a version for everyone (from mama’s to fashionistas).
