Carina Black clutch

Who doesn’t love a handy clutch? But a good one can be hard to find despite the fact that they are everywhere this season.

I think investing in a classic clutch comes with age. I’d like to think as you mature, you have slightly less chance of wandering off without your belongings because they aren’t attached to your shoulder.

And if you’re in the market for an upscale clutch, you must check out Carina Black. Made by two women (one Canadian and one adopted Canadian) this handbag company is unique because of its Italian composition and design along with donations to The Mirasol Project from every handbag sale. So firstly, they’re in my good books because they’re a Canadian company and secondly, I enjoy them because they make an effort to raise awareness for initiatives that improve the lives of women and children.

Oh and wait, the clutches are my new favourite. It even has a bracelet-style handle in case you are in the latter category of clutch wearer. Love it.

Carina Black’s Lyra clutch is made with gold pearlized croco embossed Italian leather, $475. Check out their website for retailers. And as always, if you’re looking for something slightly more affordable, try out Banana Republic (great Italian leathers), French Connection (lots of trendy detailing), Miss Sixty (for the funky bunch) or Club Monaco (shimmery ones perfect for the holidays in stores right now).
