When you get into a new hobby or sport, are you tempted to go out and buy all the gear? I am trying desperately to stop myself from buying new gear for a sport I’m obsessed with these days. (It involves chalk and belaying — can you guess what it is?)
So I’ve shifted my shopping eye to something that’s a little more multi-purpose.
A new gym bag! Not only can you use it to cart around your smelly workout clothes, but a gym bag can double as luggage for weekend travel and even as a makeshift diaper bag (although I definitely won’t be using it for this purpose). Some even have zippered compartments for laptops.
Alas, I’m probably better off saving my cash and using the backpack I already own. But here are the gym bags that caught my eye:
- 1.
- 2.
- 3.
- 4.
- 5.
- 6.
- 7.
- 8.
- 9.
1. No frills and durable as heck — my brother loves this one (Mec) / 2. Made from recycled material; features a detachable shower caddy and straps for a yoga mat (Rei) / 3. Bright, upright version with pockets galore (Lug) / 4. Full-sized duffel that compresses to pocket-sized (North Face) / 5. Myriad fun patterns and colours (LeSportsac) / 6. Cheery, with tons of room (Zappos) / 7. Motivating winter Olympics sling bag (Vancouver 2010) / 8. Basic sack, for minimalists (Nike) / 9. Handmade with heavy-duty sailcloth (Etsy)
Who knew there were so many variations in gym bags. Do you have a bag you love? What about a shopping dilemma? Leave a comment below, or send me an email.
P.S. I found the perfect iPod cases on Etsy. And don’t forget about signing up for a free Snuggie!
