Meet Corina:
She’s both the brains and brawn responsible for these:

As her company name “Passion for Cakes” suggests, she feels the love when it comes to baking. These cakes are edible works of art, custom made for the lucky client. Oh, and did I mention, this is what she does for fun at night and on the weekends. She also has a day job as VP Operations at FunctionFox Systems – a web company.
Baking is deeply embedded in Corina’s life. She grew up with a chef Dad and a Mom who instinctively knew her way around sugar, butter and flour. I’ve no doubt Corina was the envy of all come birthday party time – instead of one cake – she always had three. I never got invited to those kinds of parties
When I look at these cakes I’m struck with wonderment. They’re structurally amazing – the attention to detail – from eye-popping colour to delicate lace work, intricate decorations and 3-D design…..this is cake art really. And I’m not surprised. Corina is a gifted graphic artist. She studied at Vancouver’s Emily Carr Institute of ART and Design and has her bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
Corina will be joining us this week as our guest blogger. So stay tuned and check back soon – feel free to post any questions for her too!

How can I learn to do this and are there any good books out there on cake design? I would love to learn to work with fondant icing.
Are you planning to do a book to share your secrets?!!?!?!?
Thanks!!
