Given the global economic and cultural impact of the Oprah Winfrey brand, her decision to retire her TV show in 2011 will inevitably have consequences both large and small. No more Tom Cruise couch jumping. No more car give-aways. No more smackdowns of literary fraudsters. No more Gayle King road trips. No more bestsellers based solely on Oprah’s say-so.
